From its inception SunLikeStar has forged
a musical style both high powered and captivating. In 1996
David and Greg began to lay the musical foundation for what
would become "PAN", a band combining guitar driven
rock with elements of electronica. Later that year David discovered
a young vocalist busking on Vancouver's streets. This coincidental
meeting would lead to Jonathan becoming the third member and
frontman for "PAN".
In 1997 they released a 3 song EP featuring
"Allergy" before enlisting drummer Chris Crippen
in late 1998 to complete the lineup. The foursome performed
for a year around Vancouver and Seattle before changing their
name to "SunLikeStar" during the recording of "Inverse".
Mixed and recorded by Mike Plotnikoff (INXS, Cranberries)
with Phil Western (NIN) co-producing the album's electronic
soundscape, "Inverse" stands on its own as a potent
and innovative debut.
