All the radio stations in Vancouver were playing
The Vines every hour on the hour for at least 3 weeks prior
to the gig including songs like Get Free and Highly Evolved.
So this was a sold out show and the show to be at if you like live
rock.
The Vines started their set off with Outtathaway
followed by Autumn Shade and then into yes, you guessed it,
Highly Evolved. The crowd went nuts seeing as we were all
asleep from Autumn Shade. I was stoked to see them play Highly
Evolved live as I always find myself lip sinking the words and
the blood rushing through my body when I here it on the radio, a
million times a day. It wasn't until song number 5 that they played
Get Free and the warm up song to it was none other than Country
Yard
the crowd was ready to rock and rock they did. Other
songs included; Mary Jane, Ain't No Room, Miss
Jackson, In The Jungle, Baptists and 1969.
The end of the show was all about Craig Nicholls
and F**k The World as he ran around like a chicken with his
head cut off yelling at the top of his lungs, "F**K THE WORLD!"
To finish the show Nicholls stacks it into the drum kit and
knocks half of it over while Hamish Rosser attempted to thrash
the other half. To top it off Nicholls picks up his guitar,
swings it, and swipes out the other half of the kit. Then the song
ends, lights go out and the crowd goes berserk!
